I was part of a small but hard-working team that nearly refreshed the entirety of Carbonmade’s longstanding user experience – ranging from an overhaul of the core portfolio product, a series of complimentary applications (Messages, Network, etc.), as well as the look and feel of the illustration heavy branding. We created an extensible UI framework for future growth. I was responsible for providing the core of the application’s user interface design as well as accompanying illustrations that spanned anything from in-app flourishes, on-boarding experiences, email correspondence, to marketing campaigns.

March 2012 – December 2012 Gainesville, FL

Responsible for leading product and brand direction while also coordinating revenue opportunities with periphery advertising and marketing teams. Led a successful design overhaul of the core product in order to establish an artist content management aspect of the service (allowing musicians and labels to upload and control their own copyrighted material), expand on new marketing / advertisement avenues, and create a more social music environment for discovery. We established our first long-term presence on mobile-web via a HTML5 application which contributed to our largest spike in user-growth in 2 years.

Created a unique and cohesive visual identity that quickly became the face of the company’s brand. I was responsible for providing guidelines and direction for marketing materials, designing new features of the application as well as complimentary illustration and branding. I served as Project Manager for one major release and subsequent iterations before taking on the position of Creative Director.

Paid Internship at Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District

June 2006 – August 2006 Jupiter, Florida

Worked part-time at the Ecology Lab. Analyzed water quality tests from samples from the Loxahatchee River and the local Water Treatment Plant. I assisted with routine pickups of Datasondes (water sampling technology) as well as conducting biological surveys of plant and animal life to determine ecological health of the river and inhabitants.

Studied the Biology track for 2.5 years. Switched focus to studies in Anthropology (specifically Biological Anthropology and Environmental Sustainability) while remaining on track with studies in Zoology (Conservation & Wildlife Ecology).
